An exhibition on ancient Greek technology is being held at the Municipal Theater of Corinth. The exhibits are accompanied by rich audiovisual material, including an excellent selection of 350 inventions of the ancient Greeks, covering the period from 2000 BC to the end of antiquity.
Visitors to the exhibition will discover that the technology of the ancient Greeks shortly before the end of the ancient Greek world was remarkably similar to the beginnings of our modern technology.
Visitors can admire the automatic theater of Philo (the cinema of the ancient Greeks), the programmable theater of Heron and his aeolosphera (the first steam engine in history), the hydraulic clock of Ctesivia, the Antikythera mechanism, the hydraulic hydrauli of Ctesivia (the first keyboard musical instrument in history), the catapult machine gun of Dionysius (the first application of flat chain drive in the world) and many more.
The exhibition, which is under the auspices of the municipality of Corinth, will last until February 7 and is open to the public daily, from 8.00a.m. to 1.00 p.m.and in the afternoon from 5.00 p.m. to 8.00p.m.
