The Economic Police and Cybercrime Prosecution Service has filed a regular procedure case against a 39-year-old Greek national in Edessa, who is accused of repeatedly insulting the sexual dignity of a minor via the internet.
This specific case was preceded by a complaint, according to which a specific user of a social networking website had come into contact with an underage girl and, with lewd suggestions, had insulted her sexual dignity.
From the digital online investigation, following an order from the Athens First Instance Prosecutor's Office for a preliminary examination and in collaboration with the company of the specific website, the involvement and details of the 39-year-old Greek national were identified.
In an investigation carried out on 17.1.2014 at his home in Edessa, in the presence of a Judicial Officer and in an on-site inspection of his computer, it emerged that the aforementioned person was the user of the controversial profile on the social networking website.
Also, within the framework of the investigation, one (1) laptop and one (1) hard drive were found and seized, which will be sent to the Criminal Investigations Directorate for further laboratory tests.
The 39-year-old was not arrested due to the expiration of the time limit for the spontaneous procedure, while the case file filed against him will be submitted to the Athens First Instance Prosecutor's Office.
