Microsoft Research technicians have succeeded in creating a groundbreaking technology. Don't imagine computers, tablets or a new operating system. The groundbreaking technology, this time involves smart elevators that can figure out where you are going, and take you around without having to push a button.
The idea, although it seems complicated, is actually quite simple: the new technology looks at your time, history, and past activities, instructs the smart elevator and automatically transports you, as Microsoft explains.
"If your environment knows that at lunchtime yesterday you had arranged to have lunch with a colleague on the second floor," and you get into the elevator, the elevator is "smart enough to take you to your colleague without you telling it to," said Microsoft Research's Peter Lee in Bloomberg.
