By following the latest technological news, it is now known that in the future there will be many unmanned remote-controlled aircraft to serve our needs.
PuzzleBox is a forward-looking company that collaborates with neuroscience to design the future. It has developed a toy helicopter, the Puzzlebox Orbit, that is controlled by the pilot’s brainwaves without a remote control. The project is open source, which means that PuzzleBox hopes that ambitious developers will experiment with it and improve it.
With a headband and a tablet that displays the helicopter’s virtual trajectory, the pilot can fly it with just their thoughts. The “ribbon” reads signals from the brain via EEG, or electroencephalogram, which in turn controls the helicopter’s movements.
PuzzleBox CEO Steve Castellotti explained to HuffPost:
What we're doing is like looking for a rhythm. Thought does a lot of different things. There are messages going in all directions and there's no rhythm. But if you're doing a math assignment or a translation from a foreign language or any kind of sustained, sustained thinking, there's a rhythm, like someone beating a drum. We collect those from the electrical signals and use them to fly the helicopter.
