Windows 8.1 RTM has already been leaked, and so there are many people searching the internet for download links in order to try out Microsoft before its official release date.
Some scammers have thought of taking advantage of this very fact, which they see as a great opportunity to make money. It has been observed that several videos have been uploaded to YouTube, leading aspiring downloaders to websites that have been set up to offer only one thing: profit from clicks to their creators.
The victims of this Spam download to their computer a password-protected file that supposedly contains a Windows along with an activation tool and of course the ISO for the installation. Of course, the locked file does not open and thus the profit of the scammers increases. Their victims try to find the password to open the compressed file and thus continue their wandering on the pages exploited by the scammers.
Windows 8.1 will be released in mid-October, so it's best to wait. Installing any version that's released isn't the safest option.
