The new Ubuntu Edge phone promises a lot, mainly due to the crazy hardware specifications it wants to use. One of the features we don't see on other smartphones is dual boot.
Canonical has announced that the Ubuntu Edge will be the first phone capable of transforming into a small computer when connected to a keyboard and display.
This feature alone could make it a best seller, but the company didn't stop there, promising the ability to dual-boot between two different operating systems.
The device will likely run Ubuntu with an Android interface. The other operating system will be Ubuntu Touch. An operating system that is currently in development and should be available in a stable version by the end of the year, or perhaps in the first months of 2014.
