Security company Emsisoft has just released a new version of Emsisoft Anti-Malware. The updated version 8.0is designed to work alongside the security products you already have on your computer, offering additional defenses against the dangers that are increasing every day.
Version 8.0, which uses the BitDefender scanning engine alongside Emsisoft’s. The promising update states in its change log that it will reduce memory usage by around 80MB for faster and more responsive performance. The program, which we reviewed in its previous version, was truly “lightweight.” We’re very curious to see what the Emsisoft , promising even less memory footprint on our systems.
The new version also comes with the promise of a much-improved malware scanning and cleaning engine, along with dozens of user-interface tweaks requested by the company's customers. Emsisoft, by listening to its customers' demands, is showing the way to many companies (think Microsoft and the start menu button, which at first didn't want to hear about it and insisted we forget about it).
Emsisoft Anti-Malware 8.0 is available for free download. It works on computers running Windows XP or later.
