The company cites as typical examples of successful participation in the Windows Phone Store platform the Greek start-up Tainicom, which developed The Juggler, the first Pinball Simulator on the Windows Phone platform, and Dr. Pickaxe, which has many positive user reviews and more than 90,000 downloads.
Anlock , which develops educational apps for Windows Phone in 6 languages, has also been a huge success . Anlock gained significant recognition when its apps were featured as top-of-the-line in their category in Windows Phone Stores in over 100 countries - with a TV ad in America and the apps being used by 500,000 users in 100 countries with 7 million views, notes Microsoft Hellas.
The company, in an effort to highlight the value of its own app store, states that the Windows Phone Store is open in 191 countries, and Windows Phone has already gained a share of more than 10% in some of these countries, as confirmed by IDC data.
The average number of apps downloaded by Windows Phone users is 55 apps. Microsoft also points to the platform's momentum, as evidenced by sales of Windows Phone 8 devices that have quadrupled compared to last year. There has been a 100% increase in the number of apps downloaded by users as well as a 140% increase in app revenue, the company claims.
The aforementioned developers also spoke in favor of developing applications for Windows Phone 8.
Mr. Nikos Kastellanos of Tainicom refers in particular to the support of Microsoft Hellas but also to the time the company chose to enter the Windows Phone Store: “From the beginning, we saw the potential hidden in the new Windows Phone platform and set as our goal to establish Tainicom as the first company in Pinball Simulation within this ecosystem. The tools and support we had from Microsoft Hellas played a catalytic role in the implementation of this goal. The fact that we entered the Windows Phone market early gave us the opportunity to get in touch with the purchasing public more directly and to gain repeat clients and access to the important blogs in the field that follow our progress and give significant visibility to each new Tainicom release.”

Microsoft claims that the Windows Phone Store offers "an excellent business opportunity for developers", supporting the easy creation and maintenance of applications, while the opportunity to receive funding of up to 70,000 euros from the AppCampus program (www.appcampus.fi) is also important.
