Acer launches Iconia W3 tablet with 8-inch display

Acer is probably the first company to realize that the tablet should not be the same size as the keyboard.

The company introduced the W3, a Windows 8 tablet, which is 8 inches but attaches to a larger-sized keyboard.

They are not sold together, however. The keyboard costs $79.99, but it comes with Microsoft Office.

The tablet has an Intel Clover Trail Atom Z2760 CPU. Storage options are 32GB or 64GB, and there's a microSD card slot.

Its screen is 8.1-inch with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

Basically, Acer's W3 will be the first 8-inch tablet to run Windows 8 OS. Its retail price starts at $379.
