The now-famous Syrian Electronic Army group has taken control of BSkyB’s Sky apps on Google’s Play Store account, changing everything. Let’s start from the beginning. The “Syrian Electronic Army Was Here” notification appeared in every BSkyB app description or header. But they didn’t stop there, they replaced all BSkyB .apk files!
The company warned its followers in a Tweet that their Google Play Store account had been hacked

The Syrian Electronic Army group, which is behind the hacking, is also responsible for attacks on the Washington Post, Al Jazeera, Human Rights Watch, Financial Times, the Onion, ITV and BBC Weather. They have declared themselves “enemies of Anonymous,” according to an interview they gave to Vice.
But how did they pull off the latest attack? The most likely answer is that the group somehow stole the password to log into the account, but that's not all. They would also have had the app signing keys, otherwise the Play Store wouldn't allow updates to the apps. If any of you are using and installed the Sky News app last night, you should uninstall it immediately.
