One of the technologies that many of us have been waiting for is the ability for accessories to connect via Bluetooth 4.0, now known as Bluetooth Smart. This technology allows for low-energy connections between iOS devices and our accessories. One of the Kickstarter products, called Pebble, was one of the representative examples of this technology.
ConnecteDevice announced at the CES event yesterday the availability of the COOKOO wristwatch, a product that was also launched on KickStarter.
The company describes the watch as an accessory that combines analog movement with a digital display. Using a free app, users will be able to choose which notifications they want to appear on their watch's screen.
On the watch screen you will have the ability to receive notifications for:
– Incoming calls
– Missed calls
– Facebook messages and comments
– Calendar reminders
– When a device is offline (iPhone, iPad, etc.)
– When a device is running out of battery (iPhone, iPad, etc.)
It also has a button that you can configure according to your preferences and with it you can find your phone, take a photo, log in to your Facebook account or mark your location on a map.
The watch uses a standard battery that lasts about a year. It is highly scratch-resistant and waterproof. COOKOO supports iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPad mini, iPad (4th& 3rdgeneration ), and iPod touch (5thgeneration ). The watch is available for $129 in 5 different colors.
ConnecteDevice says the watch will be available now, and they announced this at their CES 2013 presentation.
