Good news! Apple's new Smart Battery Case for the newly released iPhone 7 is much more "featured" than previous versions.
When the $99 accessory launches later this month, it will improve the iPhone 7's "talk time" by up to 26 hours, Apple says. The case can also add 22 hours of web browsing and 24 hours of web playback: And since you probably do all of these things on your iPhone, your performance is likely to vary. This version of the case, which makes it look a bit like iPhone has a spandex-backed design, has a larger battery capacity than previous releases, according to MacRumors. Apple's own website seems to confirm this, as the iPhone 6S Smart Battery Case only promised 18 hours of web browsing and 20 hours of video playback for the device. If you're not familiar with the product, it's similar to cases from companies like Mophie. Basically, it's an external battery that you charge and place directly on your iPhone when your battery is low – allowing you to charge the device without a power outlet.
Depending on how much you use your iPhone 7 – or how much you travel – it may be able to handle it without an external case. As noted in our review of the device, the iPhone 7 can last for more than a day with moderate use.
