Virtual reality is slowly becoming a part of our everyday lives, and now Sony is getting in on the action.
Still waiting patiently to see what's new when it comes to virtual reality? Sony now wants to entice you into buying its VR headset by letting you take an early test drive.
The new PlayStation with Virtual Reality technology will appear in 30 Best Buy and Gamestop locations starting Friday as well as in 300 stores nationwide through June 24, well before the device goes on sale next fall.
This is a significant opportunity for Sony to show consumers why virtual reality is truly a fresh concept and how PlayStation VR works with PS4. Games and experiences available for demo include PlayStation VR Worlds, EVE: Valkyrie, Headmaster, Battlezone as well as the puzzle game SuperHyperCube.
Sony is offering a link to find locations near you and is organizing a multi-city “Road to Greatness” tour that will promote PlayStation games at various music festivals throughout the summer.
PlayStation VR will launch on October 13th and will be priced at $399. The current batch of pre-orders is already sold out, but Sony has announced that more batches will be available again over the coming months.
