Hacker stealing data from school computer

Gay teacher fired after sex tape posted on school website

An anonymous hacker broke into a gay teacher's Dropbox account and then posted the account's contents on the school's website. Brian Cody Bray, a high school teacher in a suburb of Little Rock, Arkansas, said an anonymous hacker accessed a video of himself and another man stored on Dropbox and posted it.

After seeing his video on the school website, school officials immediately fired him. Now Bray is fighting back against school officials, who denied him a canine dismissal and implied he was partly responsible for it.

Bray told the Washington Blade that he was home sick when a colleague from the school called to tell him about the video posted on the school's page.

Bray tried to explain to school administrators that he was the victim of an attack and that a hacker had accessed his email account and stolen his passwords to other websites, including his Dropbox account and phone numbers of students he regularly called for activities . He also said that the video in question was stored on Dropbox. The hacker changed the file name from “Private” to “FagTeachBray.”

The hacker then anonymously sent a message to students whose numbers were stored in Bray's Dropbox account. The message directed the students to the school's website, where the video was posted, according to the report.

Bray attempted to explain the situation to school authorities, as well as his students, by creating a website to explain how he had been a victim of cyberbullying. He admitted that it was wrong and he deserved to be fired, “Of course I had to be fired at that point, since I had lost all authority over my students there.” He also said that he was not ready to return to the classroom at this point due to the emotional distress.

However, school officials denied Bray a formal dismissal and suggested to the school community that he was partly responsible for the situation. Administrators filed an ethics complaint against him through the Arkansas Board of Professional Licensure Standards, which has the authority to revoke teachers' licenses. However, after investigating the allegations, the board concluded that there was insufficient evidence to discipline him.
