Since the Snowden, search engines that do not log information about users' activity and are committed to protecting their privacy have exploded on the internet.
Search engines that focus on privacy protection have managed to gain user trust, which is evidenced by the increase in traffic and the rise in the number of daily searches.
And while "anonymous" search engines still seem nonexistent in the face of popular services such as Google Search, Yahoo and Bing, they have nevertheless proven that there is market share for alternative search engines, which have room to increase their percentages even further.
One of them is Oscobo, a new search engine that shares many common elements with existing anonymous search services, such as Startpage and DuckDuckGo.
The service, unknown to many, Oscobo, provides users with greater security as, as its creators boast, it does not track users, does not set cookies on their computer, and does not create user profiles, retaining information about their habits, in any form.
The current address of the search engine is https://oscobo.co.uk/ which highlights one of its main limitations as it is currently focused on users in the United Kingdom, without this meaning that it cannot be used by users in other countries.
The website does not set cookies, which can be easily checked through the developer tools provided by each web browser, by checking the page's resources.
As in the case of DuckDuckGo, search results are taken from the Bing and Yahoo search engines. Using data from one or more of the major search engines seems to be the only economically viable solution for companies developing alternative search engines that focus on protecting user privacy.
