One of the most popular instant messengers for mobile phones, WeChat, has just received a small update for the Windows Phone platform, which brings some new features and improvements.
First of all, the developers have confirmed that WeChat for Windows Phone users can now pinpoint their exact location while sharing location data. The feature wasn't available in any of the previous versions, so you might want to try it out and see if it's accurate.
Next up is the ability to save video messages directly to the device. This is one of the features that WeChat users have been requesting, so they will probably be happy to hear that the developers have listened to their feedback and introduced this new feature.
Finally, with the latest version of WeChat, users will be notified when they are mentioned in a group chat. There are no other reports of bug fixes in the official changelog, so we have to assume that these are all the improvements added in the update.
You can download WeChat for Windows Phone 5.1.3 for free from the Windows Phone Store. The app should be fully compatible with all devices running Windows Phone 7.5 and above.
