Google seeks help from other search engines – It is noted that Google remains the undisputed leader in search engines, but in some areas it faces increased competition from other companies.
When someone thinks of "search engine" only one word comes to mind for the vast majority: Google.
However, apparently, even the giant... needs help sometimes: In an advertisement on its careers website, an ad appeared seeking a manager for its SEO (search engine optimization) team
Candidates should be able to use techniques and practices to ensure that the company's services/products are prominently displayed when performing searches.
As pointed out in a BBC report, the work aims to help its services appear better on rival search engines, such as Bing and Duck Duck Go.
The ad states that this specific position will include funneling "organic traffic" to improve the position of pages containing the company's products and services.
Candidates need a background in computer science or “equivalent practical experience.” It also notes that candidates should have knowledge of how websites work and how they can be improved so that users find them useful, link to them, and recommend them.
Google did not comment on the ad, saying it does not disclose details about its hiring processes.
It is noted that Google remains the undisputed leader of search engines, but in some areas it faces increased competition from other companies.
In North America it has 67%, with Bing following with 20% and Yahoo at 13%, while in Europe and China it has over 90%.
However, new, smaller names, such as Duck Duck Go, that do not collect data on users or are committed to protecting their privacy, are on the rise
