Facebook is planning to offer its users Snapchat, "Self-Destructing" messages!
Some users of the social network in France already have this feature on their messenger and can send messages that last only one hour.
How can you activate this feature?
Users can enable the feature on Messenger via an hourglass-shaped icon in the top right corner of a conversation. Once selected, the icon sets messages to self-destruct after an hour. Tapping the hourglass again will disable the feature and return it to normal.
Facebook said about its new feature :
“We are excited to announce the adoption of this new feature which, together with all the other optional features of Messenger, makes our app the best way to communicate.
Starting today, we are running a small test in France. Disappearing messages give users a very fun option when communicating with each other. We look forward to hearing the first feedback from users when they try it for the first time”
Snapchat has had this option since 2011, and it's not the first time Facebook has tried the self-destructing message feature. Last year, the social network tried a similar feature through its Slingshot app, but it didn't work. The company is hoping to make it a success this time.
