Electronic data of over 15 million T‑Mobile customers has been stolen by hackers, however the data was not taken directly from T‑Mobile, but rather was obtained by the credit‑monitoring company, Experian.
The electronic records that were stolen include the names and addresses of T‑Mobile customers, along with their dates of birth and additionally some encrypted information.
This encrypted information includes customers' Social Security and identifying information from things like passports and driver's licenses.
Experian discovered that the breach took place on September 15th and has notified authorities about the stolen data.

“Obviously I am incredibly angry about this data breach and we will be conducting a thorough review of our relationship with Experian, but right now my biggest concern and what needs to be focused on is immediately assisting all of the consumers who were affected.
