The Hellenic Police's Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate investigated a case of defamation and slanderous defamation of a Metropolitan
The investigation into the case began after a complaint was filed with the Athens Criminal Court Prosecutor's Office by the Metropolitan, who claimed that an internet user, managing a website with ecclesiastical content, began to defame him through it, citing false articles.
The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate identified an electronic trace in an internet connection, corresponding to a 42-year-old man.
A team of police officers from the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate went to the 42-year-old's home on Tuesday, September 15, where they conducted an investigation, during which the website's management was identified as being managed by him.
As it later emerged, the 42-year-old was a young man whom the Metropolitan had dismissed from his duties and apparently wanted to take revenge on him in this way.
