Recently, a study conducted at the University of Florida, USA, the results of which were published in the scientific journal "Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance", showed that smartphones distract workers and drivers even when a short message tone sounds.
Another study conducted by scientists at the University of Texas, the conclusions of which were published in the scientific publication "British Journal of Educational Psychology", found that the same thing happens to students who use a "smartphone".
Psychologists gave students an iPhone to use for a year, and they saw that instead of using it as a means to broaden their educational horizons and academic capabilities, they preferred to use it as a tool to access social media and listen to music.
The students admitted that smartphones distracted them from their responsibilities, and stated that when they got the phones they believed they would help them do better on tests and get better grades and would not distract them. However, a year later, the exact opposite was true.
Scientists noted that while technology is good for students' development, it is necessary to guide them so that they do not use it incorrectly.
