Gr Nanomedicine: Nanomedicine platform for the first time in Greece
A Nanomedicine Platform, which aims to connect research institutions and universities involved in Nanomedicine with hospitals, clinicians and pharmaceutical companies in the country, is being created for the first time in Greece.
"The goal of the newly established Greek platform GR Nanomedicine, which already has 70 members, is to bring the production of innovative nanomedical products into clinical practice," explains the head of Gr Nanomedicine, Dr. Varvara Karagiozaki.
The above was emphasized during the international multi-conference "Nanotechnology 2015", which is being held for the 12th consecutive year in Thessaloniki (July 4-11, Porto Pallas Hotel), by the Nanotechnology Laboratory of the Physics Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
The 70 members, which are constantly increasing, also showing the country's potential for developing innovative products, include research centers, universities, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies.
"A few days ago, I was invited by the European Commission as Greece's representative for Nanomedicine, to present this new platform, which is under the auspices of the NANONET network.
"Nanonet, created in 2003 by the Nanotechnology Laboratory ltfn of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, headed by Professor S. Logothetidis, currently has 370 active members from all over the world, who exchange information about Nanosciences and Nanomaterials on a daily basis," explains Ms. Karagiozaki.
It is noted that on July 8, as part of the conference, the first meeting of the platform's stakeholders will take place.
