United States President Barack Obamais raising continued concerns about China's cyber activities after two days of talks between the two nations.
Obama China to act to reduce tensions, according to statements from the White House.
The US has previously accused China of involvement in hacking and commercial computer systems.
Earlier in the month, the Chinese were accused of a security breach targeting the theft of 40 million federal employees. After the talks ended, the US Secretary of State, John Kerry, said that the two countries will cooperate to establish a code of conduct in cyberspace.
«We must work on the way in which all countries will behave, and especially on how this will work under terms of bilateral relations».
China had denied accusations of involvement in this monstrous security breach against the US Office of Personnel Management ( OPM ) three weeks earlier.
China's State Councilor Yang Jiechi told Washington that the US should "respect the facts" and added that China was trying to crack down on piracy and was ready to cooperate on cybersecurity issues with the US .
Earlier this year, China also denied accusations of a previous major violation against the U.S. The White House and President Obamahad again expressed concerns about the growing Chinese presence in the South China Sea.
Nevertheless, both sides expressed the desire to place emphasis on agreement issues, including the preservation of the oceans, illegal fishing, and climate change.
