The Compute Plug smart socket with Windows 10 operating system – While we all have our eyes fixed on and anxiously await the arrival of the Windows 10 operating system, Microsoft surprised us (rather pleasantly!) by showing off the smart socket – computer that “wears” the operating system . Surely this is something that no one expected to see!!
So the reason for the Compute Plug, which was presented by the company Quanta. In this way, it managed to realize an Internet of Things vision, namely making it possible to fit an entire computer into the limited space of a socket. The system takes power directly as a regular socket, while it has an HDMI port and two USB ports for connecting to peripheral devices. The most appropriate use of this device is to turn any TV into a smart TV and the socket into a home theater PC.
In fact, the Quanta Compute Plug has a Bluetooth transceiver for wireless connection to other devices, while one can operate it with voice commands with the help of Cortana, in Windows 10. No detailed information was announced about the technical characteristics of the miniature computer, nor about its prices.
However, Microsoft also highlighted other small devices that can run Windows 10 during Computex in Taiwan, such as the Foxcon Kangaroo, a mini PC with an Intel Cherry Trail processor and 6 hours of battery life. It can connect to any display and turn it into a fully functional computer.
