The Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group is using social media sites like Twitter to recruit people. To put an end to this, Anonymous hacktivists and their followers have launched a “campaign” called “#OpISIS” against ISIS.
Their main motivation is to disable all websites and major Social Media accounts associated with ISIS.
Hacktivists began a search to identify Twitter accounts linked to ISIS. In March 2015, they reportedly identified more than 25,000 Twitter accounts. Most of the accounts have been reported and removed from Twitter. They also reportedly “defaced” more than 100 websites.
Anonymous hackers have now leaked more than 4,000 email addresses, IP addresses and logs, which they say they took from online communities supporting ISIS. Some links to the dumps have been shared on the Hackers Leaks website.
Some of the email addresses listed in the dump list have a “*.gov” extension.
