Installer Hijacking Defender is the first software specifically designed to address the Installer HIJACKING vulnerability.
Installer HIJACKING Defender became officially available today on the Google Play Store and, as 360 Security Group says, it is the only application of its kind that fully scans for vulnerabilities, including Installer HIJACKING , and protects Android devices from exposure to risks.
Last March, Palo Alto Networks announced that it had discovered the Android Installer HIJACKING vulnerability. This vulnerability allows a hacker to modify or replace a seemingly innocent Android application with malware and thus gain complete access to a user's personal information.
The vulnerability was found on devices running Android 4.2.x and earlier, but some running Android 4.3 may be carriers. According to the data, 89.4% of Androids were affected in January 2014, when the vulnerability was first disclosed.
Google has released patches to fix the vulnerability for Android 4.3, but user vigilance is still required, says 360 Security Group.
