E@IATREIA is being implemented by the General Hospital of Xanthi

An electronic appointment management system for regular outpatient clinics, with the distinctive title "E@IATREIA", was implemented by the administration of the Xanthi General Hospital, with the aim of providing optimal service to citizens, but also saving resources that "reach" 70,000 euros.

From the very first month of its implementation, the citizens of Xanthi "embrace" the new system, with 74.3% of appointments with the hospital's outpatient clinics being booked in less than three minutes!

According to the hospital's administration, 80% of users consider the application to be "very good" to "excellent".

" E@IATREIA is an innovation in the service provided to citizens by the services of Xanthi Hospital and we are truly proud that this electronic application bears the 'seal' of the hospital's executives," says the hospital's administrator, Thanasis Paschou, to APE-MPA.

“With the new electronic outpatient appointment management system E@IATREIA,” explains Mr. Paschou, “citizens have the ability to easily and quickly book their appointments and be informed of all developments via email or SMS on their mobile phones.”.

The study, design and development of the application was carried out exclusively by the Organization and Informatics Department of Xanthi Hospital with the assistance and encouragement of the hospital administration , and the project was implemented over a period of six months

The development of the above electronic application E@IATREIA, according to Mr. Paschou, can also be used in other hospitals and health institutions in the country so that the largest possible number of citizens can benefit from the new electronic system for managing appointments with outpatient clinics.

However, the hospital administrator emphasizes that in addition to providing immediate and effective service to citizens, the benefits of implementing the new electronic system are multiple, as it achieves:

– Utilization of the human resources available in the hospital's IT sector.

– More effective management of financial resources.

– Eliminating the weaknesses of the four-digit voice gateway that was implemented until today.

– Merit-based and equal classification of booked appointments for all.

– Complete and immediate information to users either via email or SMS.

– Acquisition of web application know-how for the IT Department as a repository for the development of other applications.

– Savings in favor of the hospital from the future abolition of the existing system.

– Free access to the appointment service for all citizens either through a personal broadband connection or through a health professional.

– Saving on the cost of purchasing the application by possibly outsourcing it to a private company.
