The European Union's law enforcement agency has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the ENFSI network of forensic laboratories, which provides expertise in a vast range of areas, including computer fraud.
The purpose of the agreement is to facilitate the exchange of information related to the fight against crime.

On Tuesday, Wil van Gemert, Deputy Director of Operations at Europol, said that strengthening the relationship with ENSFI would help cooperation in the field of forensics.
The ENSFI network of forensic laboratories was created in 1995 and now exists in 35 locations across Europe. According to information from the organization's website, in 2014 there were 62 members in the network.
The field of forensics extends from crime scene investigation, weapon and fiber examination, graphology, speech analysis or text linguistics to data recovery and electronic fraud.
“Our members already work with Europol. The memorandum is a logical step towards strengthening our cooperation and realizing a European forensic science sector, where both organizations can play an important role, through data and knowledge,” said Üllar Lanno, President of ENFSI.
