Apple and Samsung may have invested in fingerprint scanners for their flagship models, but Fujitsu has decided to go a step further. The Japanese company has developed an iris authentication system that unlocks smartphones with a scan of the user's eyes, reminiscent of something out of a science fiction movie.
It can be used to log in to Facebook, email and other web services, according to a report by MailOnline and is being showcased at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. According to the company, the new method of user authentication it developed uses iris, which is not only very convenient but also difficult to forge.
People from Fujitsu report that the screen can be unlocked simply with a glance, eliminating the need for hand usage, for example when someone wears gloves and cannot use their fingerprints.
