Dropbox for iPhone and iPad owners has become much more powerful today, as the latest version includes new features for iOS 8. This allows users to save information from various apps to Dropbox on iOS, without having to open the cloud-syncing app.
For example, you can send photos directly to Dropbox from the iOS app, making it much easier to upload images to the cloud service than before. You can also use its new extension to save text files to Dropbox, as well as entries you’ve created in your Notes app. For files you view online, such as PDFs from websites, the “Open In…” action will now be included in Dropbox, as it aims to create a more desktop-friendly experience.
To take advantage of the new extension for iOS 8, users must make sure they have the latest version installed, version 3.7, and have enabled the extension for the new features.
To make the process easier, the user can open an image in the photos app and press the share button and move to the far right in the bottom row to the gray actions. Then, in the more menu (…), there is the option “Save to Dropbox”, as a function.
The new extension should appear in any app that the app supports, including Photos, Notes, SAFARI Files, and more. In addition to the new extension, the new version already supports a number of other features for iOS 8, including Touch ID authentication and iCloud.
