The low security of systems is nothing new, nor is the fact that they are hacked every now and then to display all kinds of messages. Most of them are simply intended to entertain drivers.
A billboard in Los Angeles, near Bunker Hill, was hacked a few days ago and the message it displayed may have contained foul language, but it was well-intentioned.
“Read a Fucking Book,” was displayed on the large sign on the street, as can be seen from the photo that immediately circulated on social media.
It's a good tip considering the internet has become so engrossed in emoji-based communication. Some of the funniest messages from road sign hackers warn drivers of zombies ahead or even inform Mario that the princess is in another castle.
However, as much fun as it may be, there is a real danger behind it all. The messages on the signs are intended to give certain warnings to drivers. Therefore, changing them can lead to serious accidents.
On the other hand, the fact that some individuals have access to the management functions of these systems is quite worrying. A simple example of what they can cause is the fact that they can drive cars onto isolated roads with the intention of robbery.
