Facebook is without a doubt the social network of the year. But what are the plans of the charismatic Mark Zuckerberg?– Revenue in the third quarter reached $3.2 billion, up 59% year-on-year.
– It has 1.3 billion active users and continues to increase its users every quarter.
– Instagram has 300 million users.
– Facebook messenger has 500 million users.
– WhatsApp has over 600 million users.
However, it's not just about the numbers. Either way, Facebook is a social network that has achieved a lot since its founding, but Mark Zuckerberg seems to have outdone himself this year.
He is no longer the young punk CEO that analysts mock for the gray T-shirt he constantly wears.
Mark Zuckerberg has made a bet on things that seem to be paying off. He bought WhatsApp in a deal valued at $22 billion. And he spent another $2 billion on Oculus Rift, a virtual reality company that may be building the next big computing platform.
And while that may seem like a lot, when Zuckerberg paid $1 billion for Instagram everyone said it was a lot of money. This year, however, the value of the social network Instagram is estimated at $35 billion.
Presenting the third quarter results, Mark Zuckerberg spoke about the goals for the next 3, 5 and 10 years of the social network Facebook.
As he said, over the next 3 years he will continue to make Facebook a better product.
In the next 5 years, the goal is for WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger to gain one billion users.
Mark Zuckerberg believes that messaging is a colossal business. In the coming years, he will focus on renewing the platform.
Previously, the young billionaire could not speak publicly about his vision. Now he does it very well.
