Cyber Hacking School in New Zealand

A training camp for troubled teenagers is set to open in Glenorchy, New Zealand. The project is expected to help them navigate the complex world of hacking. The goal is to create a school for tech skills specifically tailored for hacking and cyber-espionage activities.

The project is in its very early stages and is the vision of Kirsha Kaechele, who is married to professional gambler David Walsh, founder of the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA).

Kaechele, an artist and philanthropist, hopes that the school will be supported by the Ministry of National Defense, as well as various other companies.

In an interview with TasWeekend, he said that cyber skills can help business activities such as starting startups, but they can also be put to use in government.

It seems that the school envisioned it as a center for training future spies, and a student body limited to just 13, according to The Mercury.

Creating spaces for teaching hacking and cybersecurity is not new and many countries have already started doing so.
