THE NEW SERVICE MEANS THAT ONLINE CONSUMERS IN GREECE NO LONGER NEED A CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD WHEN PAYING WITH PAYPAL
PayPal ,the global leader in online payments, is now launching its top-up in Greece. This banking top-up service allows customers to transfer money from their bank account to a PayPalin order to make online, without using a credit or debit card.
With this new service, PayPal account holders now have the option to choose a simpler and more secure way to pay online , without the need for a credit or debit card. The service is currently available through Eurobank Ergasias S.A., while PayPal intends to add other banks to its partner network.
As PayPal does not share personal financial information when authorizing online transactions, paying via PayPal is still a more secure payment method, since card or bank details are not available to the website of each business. By using the bank top up and paying via PayPal, it becomes easier to manage personal expenses, since at the end of the month users do not receive card bills with surprise charges.
“We are excited to launch top up services in Greece. This way, Greek account holders will gain greater control over their finances, while using the simplest and most secure payment method on millions of websites around the world,” said Ganna Yevtushenko , Head of Business Development at PayPal in Central and Eastern Europe.
