The rich are not particularly loved, both on and off the internet. For the past few months, a site has been uploading photos of rich kids, which it takes from Instagram and mocks their poses, helicopters, expensive watches and the luxurious hotels they stay in.
This was no longer the case. In order to maintain a private space where they can share experiences and photograph their wealth without being criticized or insulted, wealthy young people can now use the website Netropolitan.club from September 16.
Registration costs $9,000 (€7,000) and members will have to pay $3,000 annually, as is the case in private clubs. The social network is thus offering, for the first time, a way for people to stay together.
The network's communications manager, Michelle Lawless, told the Los Angeles Times:
"The site's founder, James Touchi-Peters, believes that no one can be judged negatively on social media. Netropolitan is a place where people can share their experiences of a trip to Europe or their new car without causing excessive or violent reactions."
Netropolitan.club is prohibited and closed to those who have not paid for registration and have not been admitted. It has no advertisements and is managed by special employees of the company.
These are some of the photos that were leaked and angered the rich:
