Anand Lal Shimpi, the editor and publisher of the popular technology website AnandTech, will now work for Apple.
According to recode.net, an Apple spokesperson confirmed Shimpi's hiring, but did not provide any other information.
Shimpi announced on his website that he is "officially retiring from tech reporting," without mentioning his new plans. "I won't be idle forever. There are a lot of challenges out there :)," he wrote.
AnandTech was founded in 1997 and focuses primarily on hardware review, with extensive presentations on motherboards and other hardware.
"AnandTech started as a motherboard review site, and then we added reviews for CPUS, graphics cards, notebooks, Macs, smartphones, tablets, and more," Anand said.
Shimpi also announced that AnandTech will continue to operate as normal, with Ryan Smith as the new editor-in-chief.
