The Associated Press reports that hackers managed to compromise more than 1,000 StubHub accounts. The hackers were able to use those accounts to buy tickets from an online retailer. The company maintains that its security was not compromised and that the cybercriminals obtained user information through other websites, which use the same information as the StubHub accounts.
The cybercrime was carried out by hackers from around the world, and the Manhattan District Attorney's office is expected to approve the arrests. The actual attack took place last year, and StubHub has already issued rewards for anyone affected.
