Our smart devices have become very rude
Small pocket computers, smart phones, tablets, global communication, instant access to factoids, videos and much more.
A few decades ago, no one could have predicted what today's digital life would be like.
Unfortunately, however, the technological wonders we experience these days have largely turned against us, turning us into... completely rude people.
See below the behavioral mistakes we have acquired because of technology:
1. Dinner for two… completely cut off from each other
You've probably seen them at some point, and if you're completely honest with yourself, you'll admit that... you too fall into this category (at least to some extent!).
Families, couples, groups of friends... they sit in a restaurant completely silent and quiet. Aside from their food, their attention is focused on their mobile phone screens!
Next time, try setting a challenge for yourself (and your dinner companions): not to take your cell phone out of your pocket during dinner!
2. The loudmouth in public toilets
You can do whatever you want at home, but when you use a public restroom as an office space, things change.
It's not particularly polite to have an entire conversation, talking loudly and ignoring the people around you, writes Kim Komando on Fox News.
Do your job… wash up and… leave!
3. The “do not disturb” headphones Headphones
send a “do not disturb” signal to the rest of the world. However, if you are in a work environment and someone is trying to talk to you, the polite thing to do is… take them out of your ears completely, to show them that you are paying attention to what they are saying.
4. The noisy ones
Ringtones, text messages, reminders and notifications for new incoming emails... and all of this at full volume!
Would you like to know where the button is located, where the volume is lowered?
As for those who choose the solution of "silencing" by using headphones... If the volume is at full, the noise will still be too loud for some. (Don't forget how much damage you are doing to your hearing).
5. The message boy
If you bump into other people while walking down the street, then it's probably time to... look up from your phone screen.
Not to mention those who text while driving or… during sex!
6. The selfie addict
The only person who might be interested in the dozens of selfies you upload to social media would be... your mom.
But not the rest of the world!
For a change, put down the cell phone and… enjoy the scenery around you, wherever you are.
