5G. European Union and Korea join forces to develop the new network!

The European Union and South Korea are set to announce a joint effort to develop the new 5G network. According to sources at the Wall Street Journal, the EU member states and Korea will initially create a joint scientific team to work on preparing the technological standards and technical specifications required to make the 5G network a reality.

5gA-2The adoption of the new 5G network is a project, both for the European Union and for Korea, as according to experts it will change the way we perceive communication and the Internet. As they point out, if with 4G networks it takes about 6 minutes to download a high-resolution video, with the 5G network this time will be infinitesimally short. In fact, the initial design aims to achieve speeds of up to 1Gbps, so you can imagine what speeds we are talking about. At the moment, South Korea seems to have fully adopted the LTE / 4G, with most of its territory covered by this network and an overwhelming percentage of the population using it. For Europe, the picture is completely different, as the 4G network has not yet become mainstream, with most Europeans preferring the older 3G.

Many   market  players have already started to sound  the alarm, as they believe that if the transition to a faster network is not made immediately, there is a risk  of slowing down the development of the European economy. According to experts, the 5G network will be ready by  December 2020  (we will have to wait for quite some time). The completion of this project will require an investment of a not inconsiderable amount of  1.49 billion dollars , and Samsung  and  LG  will participate in it  .
