The National Retaliation Center (NR3C) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) of Pakistan has collaborated with local authorities to identify and arrest a suspect for hacking into Warid Telecom's systems.

Warid is a multinational telecommunications company headquartered in Abu Dhabi, providing services in Congo, Pakistan, and Uganda.

According to the newspaper The Express Tribune, Mubashar Shahzad is accused of intercepting confidential information from the company's customer databases and leaking it online.

The authorities began investigating the case when one of the senior management officials of the telecommunications company filed a lawsuit. The investigators needed only a few days to locate the suspect based on an IP address:

The stolen data was published on the website earlysms.com, so the authorities contacted the hosting company of that website, identifying the suspect's details (IP address, email, and phone number), which led to his arrest.

The website on which the hacker published the stolen data has been taken offline.
