Death Trap on Facebook

GREECE1Shocking new details about the brutal murder of a 30-year-old in Daphne

A paid death contract appears to be behind the brutal murder of 30-year-old pawnbroker Giorgos Kotsilidis, who was found dead and bound hand and foot a year ago in his home in Daphne.

Initially, it was believed that the unfortunate man had fallen victim to a trap set by robbers who approached him via Facebook, but there are strong indications that he "paid" the financial differences his father had, who had received threats against him and his family.

George Kotsilidis was found murdered on April 13, 2013, in the pawnbroker's family's apartment. The perpetrators – three men and a woman, as was revealed three weeks later, when they confessed to their crime – had bound his hands and feet with duct tape and strangled him with a piece of it.

The house was in disarray, while 139,000 euros and two kilograms of jewelry had disappeared from the safe, which was found open, but the killers had not discovered another 8,000 euros that the victim had in his jacket pocket.

Through the voluminous case file, new evidence emerges that gives a new dimension to the causes of the murder. The previously unknown evidence shows that the deputy leader of the four-member gang did not "fish" the 30-year-old through Facebook, but was carrying out a paid order with the aim of harming one of the members of the Kotsilidis family.
As the victim's father revealed in his statement to the investigator, he was also receiving threats for his own life, which - as he claims - began from the financial differences he had with his former partner, with whom they maintained a pawnshop in the Neos Kosmos area.
