Child sexual abuse prevention seminar
Ms. Elena Rapti, Member of Parliament for Thessaloniki and Coordinator of the Council of Europe's "ONE in FIVE" Campaign in Greece, will be the keynote speaker to inform participants about the prevention and ending of child sexual abuse.

The “Hope For Children” UNCRC Policy Center is organizing a seminar on the topic of child sexual abuse prevention entitled “No child deserves to be sexually abused” on March 12, 2014. The seminar will take place at the Da Vinci Amphitheatre, Europa Building, University of Nicosia.
The seminar includes the participation of key actors in this field who are actively involved in the Council of Europe ONE in FIVE Campaign to end sexual violence against children.
The opening address of the seminar will be presented by the General Director of “Hope For Children” Mr. Joseph Varughese, while Dr. Antonis Stylianou, Senior Member of the Board of Advisors of “Hope For Children” will present the topic “Definition of child sexual abuse and the treatment of victims by the criminal justice system, based on national and European legislation”. Ms. Stella Kyriakidou, Member of Parliament and General Rapporteur for Children in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will introduce the issue of advocacy and the therapeutic dimension for dealing with child victims. Ms. Elena Rapti, Member of Parliament for Thessaloniki and Coordinator of the “ONE in FIVE” Campaign of the Council of Europe in Greece, will be the keynote speaker to inform participants on the prevention and end of child sexual abuse.
Registration for the seminar will take place from 6:00-6:15pm, while upon completion of the speeches at 7:20pm there will be time for public discussion of the issues that arise.
