Dell presented its new line of laptops intended for use in the education sector, which for this reason also has the appropriate specifications.
The Latitude 13 Education series from Dell incorporates the Windows operating system from Microsoft, unlike the previous “educational” laptop from the company that was released a few months ago, which incorporated the Android operating system. Additionally, it maintains the same design lines as the other Latitude laptops, which are intended for more professional uses.
However, the Latitude 13 Education line will have clearly younger users and therefore much lower responsibility in computer use. Thus, some particularly technical features have been incorporated into the line. The models in the series incorporate the MIL-STD military durability specifications, have rubberized corners, durable Gorilla Glass on the screen, and a waterproof keyboard. Additionally, it has the flexibility to be able to «open» the screen up to 180 degrees without breaking.
Additionally, the 13‑inch Dell laptop features a discreet LED indicator that signifies the connection to the Internet. In this way, any adult can, at a glance, detect whether a child has connected to the Internet.
The «childlike» character of the Latitude 13 Education is evident also from its basic equipment, which includes Celeron series processors, does not have a touchscreen, and its cost will start from $399. However, there will also be configuration options that will dramatically boost performance, with processors up to Core i5 fourth generation and a touchscreen. The remaining hardware specifications vary: memory amount from 2 to 8GB, standard hard drive or SSD (Solid State Drive), and a four- or six-cell battery.
