In recent years, screen size has become a top priority for manufacturers and consumers
The use of the smartphone as a mobile phone occupies only 16% of the total usage time, with other social activities, such as sending and receiving emails (78%), searching the internet (73%) and playing games (60%) monopolizing the interest of most people.
According to the “Always Connected” research (Facebook – IDC) regarding the relationship between smartphones and social activities, users seem to perceive these devices more as portable computers than as simple phones.
Based on this data, the need for even larger screens has emerged, which will allow owners to fully exploit the capabilities of the devices and enjoy a wide user experience. Thus, in recent years, screen size has emerged as a top priority for manufacturers, with large screens reaching from 5 to 7 inches. The upward trend of large-screen smartphones is also confirmed by the particularly increased sales in key regions, such as Southeast Asia, Northern Europe and Brazil.
