Google is once again hosting the Pwnium hacking competition to recruit hackers and crackers. Prizes, up to $2.7 million in total, will be awarded to anyone who can hack Chrome OS so that Google can fix the bugs. If you're interested, there are plenty of cash prizes up for grabs, which you could win individually or as part of a team.
Pwnium 4, as the competition is known, will allow contestants to choose to hack Intel or ARM-powered laptops as they attempt to crack Chrome OS. Those who succeed will be rewarded with between $110,000 and $150,000, with the larger sums going to those who can maintain control of the hacked systems, even after reboots and other fixes.
To do so, winners must be able to provide the code used to do the job, as well as highlight the vulnerabilities they found during the attack. Seeing as how last year, Google was scheduled to pay out a total of $3,141,590 and only $40,000 was given away, it's possible that this prize money won't be awarded in full.
