This week, Apple expanded support for Apple Account Card in the Wallet to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania , and Malta. The Apple Account Card option for Wallet began rolling out in 2022, and Apple has been gradually expanding the feature to more countries since then. The move is part of Apple’s strategy to strengthen its presence in European markets, giving its users more options for managing their finances across their devices.

What is Apple Account Card?
The Apple Account Card is a tool that allows users to manage the balance associated with their Apple Account (formerly Apple ID). This card is not a traditional credit card, but a digital solution that allows purchases to be made in physical Apple stores and online at Apple.com. In addition, it can be used to purchase applications in the App Store, as well as for subscriptions and other Apple services, such as Apple Music and iCloud.
The Apple Account Card acts as a kind of digital wallet, where users can add funds via a linked debit or credit card. This process is easily done through the “Add Money” option in Wallet, offering flexibility and instant access to funds. Also, when users redeem an Apple Gift Card, the credit balance is automatically transferred to the Apple Account Card.
It's not an Apple Credit Card
It's important to note that the Apple Account Card is different from the Apple Card, which is a credit card offered by Apple in partnership with Goldman Sachs. The Apple Card is available in physical and digital form and allows users to make financial transactions at contactless payment terminals via Apple Pay, as well as in stores, restaurants, and other locations where Apple Pay is not yet accepted.
Unlike the Apple Card, the Apple Account Card does not offer a credit line, interest, or rewards. There is no physical version of the Apple Account Card, and it cannot be used to send money to friends or redeem your balance for cash. This digital card is solely for managing your Apple Account balance.

Apple Account Card – Supported Regions
In addition to the regions listed at the beginning of this article, Apple Account Cards are supported in many countries worldwide, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates.
One important point to note is that the ability to pay in person at an Apple Store with your Apple ID Card (double-clicking the side button and holding your iPhone to the reader) isn't available in every country or region. Apple has yet to announce whether the four new regions it recently expanded to will have the full range of usage options.
Add Apple Account Card to Wallet
Adding an Apple Account Card to your iPhone's Wallet app is a simple process. Open Wallet, tap the plus (+) button, then tap Add Apple Account. Tap Continue and wait a few moments for it to be linked to your Apple Account. Once it's added to your Wallet, your balance and recent transactions will appear below the card.
