NVIDIA has announced the end of support for 32-bit Linux-x86 CUDA and OpenCL application versions.
The discontinuation of 32-bit support is not a real problem for Linux users, given that a very small percentage still use 32-bit systems with the new Nvidia.
According to the company, the Linux-x86 version of the CUDA toolkit is still available and supported, but future versions may not feature 32-bit support.
Also, the CUDA driver may not be included in future versions of the NVIDIA Linux-x86 and Linux-x86_64 GPU packages.
The announcement was made on official forum and shows that the hardware industry is no longer interested in supporting 32-bit architecture. It is a given that software developers will soon follow suit.
