Facebook has announced that a new version of its Messenger app for Android will be available for download via the Google Playin the coming days.
According to the developers, Facebook Messenger has been completely redesigned to offer smoother menu navigation, better speed, and improved graphics.
In addition to the major changes, which are confirmed by developers, Facebook Messenger's texting feature is expected to be removed entirely, as it didn't have the impact the company had originally envisioned. However, Facebook said users will still be able to send text messages from their phones.
The new version of Facebook Messenger is available for a limited number of users starting today and will be officially released for everyone, globally, in the coming days.
