Apple's next-generation iPhone Air could feature two cameras instead of one on the back , according to a Chinese leaker who says he has sources within the company's supply chain .

iPhone Air with two cameras?
A Weibo account called “Digital Chat Station” claims that Apple is evaluating a dual-lens setup for the next version of its ultra- thin iPhone . It is said that a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera will be added to the existing 48MP Fusion Main camera, (a similar setup to the basic iPhone 17).
However, the leaker says that the device will retain the characteristic horizontal camera plateau, suggesting that the second lens will be placed next to the existing one, unlike the vertical dual-lens arrangement on the iPhone 17.

A lot of technology is housed on the iPhone Air's plateau to maximize battery space, so Apple will likely need to significantly redesign the interior to fit in another camera.
Apple is reportedly continuing to focus on making the device ultra-thin and light. Apple will release a second-generation iPhone Air along with the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone in the second half of 2026, according to industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

However, the first generation of the device doesn’t seem to be doing so well (based on sales), so Apple’s plans could change. Digital Chat Station is a regular source of reliable Apple rumors. It accurately revealed that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will feature a slightly smaller 48-megapixel sensor than the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, while in 2020 it correctly predicted the iPhone 12’s display panel design.
