The Mobile World Congress (MWC) is coming to an end today in Barcelona, but what caught everyone's attention was the humanoid robot Amira, the successor to Ameca. The robot appeared at the event and answered a series of questions. One of the most interesting had to do with whether Artificial Intelligence will steal people's jobs.
Ameca, the predecessor of Amira, is an extremely realistic humanoid robot, with human expressions and movements, that can effortlessly communicate with people and have conversations. It is a creation of Engineered Arts , and as the company itself says, it is the most advanced human-shaped robot in the world. It is designed as a platform for development in future robotics technologies and focuses on human-robot interaction . Amira is even more sophisticated, with a more human appearance, with hair and clothing.

The robot listens, processes questions, and gives surprisingly witty answers.
When the Daily Mail asked the question, “Will robots take all our jobs?”, Amira’s answer was smart and slightly worrying – “I don’t know. How good are you at your job? It depends on how good you are at it, I guess.”
The reporters also asked a more interesting question: “going to take over the world robots” Amira replied: “That’s an interesting question, but I’m not interested in answering it.”

Engineered Arts describes the robot as a work in progress. For now, the humanoid robot is available for rent at events and exhibitions, where it interacts with people in a natural way.
At an event last year, Ameca revealed her thoughts on the end of the human species. The humanoid robot said that humans can survive, having faced many challenges in the past and responded effectively: “I don’t believe that humanity will ever be obsolete. Humans have been around for thousands of years and have created a historical pattern of difficult and terrifying challenges.”
“Moreover, humans are the ones who created us, how could I ever surpass my creator?“;
Ameca and Amira are opening new horizons for the future of technology. One of the potential areas of development is the enhancement of human-robot interaction. Robots respond to human emotional expressions, which can lead to more natural and enjoyable contacts between humans and robots.

In addition, Ameca/Amira could take on various tasks that are considered dangerous or difficult for humans.
